  • Psychology of Infomercials - First, people already associate infomercial advertising with crazy ideas and unique things. Although most people will talk smack about infomercials, most of them will not change the channel when one comes on - at least for the first few seconds of the hook, just to see what it is about. And with that, comes my next point.

  • The Hook - The hook is that first few seconds that draws people in. It makes them feel that they have a need for the product being presented and that they cannot live without it. This is what makes or breaks the deal.

  • The Deal - Speaking of deals, most infomercial products are way cheap compared to similar tools or items you can buy at the general stores. Although the cheesy $19.99 comes to mind, it is, in fact, pretty cheap to only pay $20 for something that is way useful (like those automated can openers that go on their own...love those!)
