I am the kind of person who is more likely to respond to direct response marketing than any other form of advertising. I like direct response advertising because it gets down to business and tells me exactly why a product would benefit me. I am the kind of consumer that is unlikely to be impressed by an annoying tune, a silly caption or an intangible idea that doesn‘t relate directly to the product being promoted. In fact I find inane commercials immensely irritating. I’m unlikely to buy any product if the commercial that plugs it insults my intelligence. Just tell me clearly and concisely what is in it for me or don‘t bother.
Infomercial advertising works well for those companies that want to attract astute consumers. Infomercial advertising is so effective with the type of consumer who deplores foolishness because it gives a concise demonstration of how a product works without all of the superfluous rubbish that other commercials have. Infomercial advertising is also good for attracting shrewd customers because it generally offers a bargain in return for making a prompt purchase. People are far more likely to buy your product if they think they are getting excellent value for money.
