The key to making an infomercial is to make it catchy. You are at a disadvantage that you product is not a brand name and, as such, there is no branding. Branding is key in merchandising and selling a product, and if you don't have branding you need to have something else - a hook.
When making an infomercial, you need to use your time wisely. By using a "hook", this means you are creating a need for your product through psychological marketing principlies and filling that need later by presenting to the audience how they can do so through your product. Just look at one of the best examples of this - the weightloss industry. Body image is a cultural thing, and the exercise machine or weightloss program infomercials take advantage of people's insecurity by making them only more insecure with hot fitness models and such. Then they present their product and its an almost sure sell to someone who truly feels they need it. So, whatever your product that you are offering - remember, making an infomercial is about creating a need and filling that need. Be creative! |
