Dumbing Down Infomercial Script Writing |

Infomercial script writing needs to be a few things. The first being easily understood by everyone that is in a products specific demographic. When talking products such as clap-on lights you can imagine just about everyone is applicable to be a customer. With that said a certain amount of dumbing down needs to take place during infomercial script writing so that there is no confusion about what is being offered.
I hate to say it but many people in America are not up to par with high-level language, meaning that larger, lesser-used words go right over their head. There is nothing that will kill direct response advertising faster than potential clients who have no idea what you are talking about.
Where field based language will work are with products that incorporate revolutionary ways of production that have been gaining increased media coverage such as nanotechnology. Most people could not define nanotechnology but are aware of the word from media outlets, making them more comfortable and even excited about the term. Infomercial script writing must speak to all audience because the prices are in range for just about everyone.
