Avoid Lawsuits: Making an Infomercial Truthful |

<--Nothing but B.S.
It should go without saying that making an infomercial truthful is not only ethical but the only way to avoid lawsuits. A Beverly based ITV Direct infomercial advertising company has been caught under fire after two of their nutritional supplement infomercials lied to consumers, according to salemnews.com. The Federal Trade Commission is seeking 55 million dollars in damages, a number large enough to sideline any infomercial advertising company.
ITV’s president tried to file a countersuit but it was quickly denied by the judge. The deception comes from two products called Coral Calcium and Supreme Greens with MSM that made ridiculous claims to cure cancer, heart disease, diabetes and Parkinson’s after use. Who believed these claims is beyond me but ITV Direct should pay for such unfounded statements.
Who knows how many sick people put hope in these products but it is sickening to think how far some will go to make a buck. U.S. District court judge, George O’Toole is overseeing the case and a restitution agreement is now on the horizon. Always be truthful when making an infomercial or else.
